Hi Ian,

The fact that the Mod wheel now acts as a cut off controller for a lot of the synth voices and pads on the PSR line is GREAT and it was something that I feel was long overdue.

I agree with your comment about all companies charging more for their TOTL Arrangers as opposed to the TOTL 61 note synths becuase its simply true, BUT other companies like Roland, Korg and Ketron have their arrangers built using the similar quality construction as the Synths AND they also have very strong voice and pattern editing features which I hate to say that Yamaha leave out of the Tyros.

The next PSR line I am assuming wont have any sliders or knobs but it is something that MUST be included in the near future

I truly believe that the Tyros 4 has now put Yamaha on path or just slightly above Korg with the PA 2x Pro (Very subjective and totally opinion based). BUT again my personal opinion is that the next TOTL offering from Korg will leap ahead of the Tyros 4, and it will probably happen soon.

I am not just talking about sound quality. I am talking about an overall offering - build construction, voice editing capabilities, style production and editing, Assignable faders etc etc.

And when I refer to "The weaker Build quality" of the Tyros and PSR line, I dont necessarily mean that it will 'break' or 'fall apart'. What I mean (and I think a lot of other people mean) is when you have a Roland G70 or a Korg PA2x Pro or even a Motif XS or Roland Fantom in front of you, you just know its "Quality" and it has "Professional" invisibly written all over it.

I guess this is just my opinion and very subjective to my tastes. As I said above in my previous post, I own an S910 which is fantastic and the Motif XF due for delivery next week (I will probably be the first person in Australia to actually own one!)

I just wish Yamaha would step up because the potential is DEFINITELY there right now.

Nick
