Not really. Although you can record any sounds into the Midijay via an external mic/Line in, these will be stored in the HD as Wave files, but they can't readily be assigned to 'KEYS' and used at a gigg. Just played one at a time directly from the Hard Disk.

The other option would be to Record the sounds that you want and group them in groups of 10 each (that will be assigned to a PLAY LIST button) so you can manually use the PLAY LIST buttons as a 'keyboard' to playback the samples!!
