Those (active) speakers caught my eye also in the store. I've used nothing but EV (passive) speakers for the last 15 year or so. Every so often I even get complimented on the sound quality by someone in the audience.

I listened with my own keyboard to the Yamaha Pas system....thought it was a bit muddy, but in all fairness my ears are used to an EV sound.

I've been thinking about purchasing those ZXA1's. Anyone else have any comments on them? Or thoughts about using powered speakers? Any downside to powered speakers?
