Take a look at a program called Ableton Live. Probably the most flexible thing around, designed for live use, anything from old school to no school!

Full MIDI control of EVERYTHING, capable of looping and triggering audio and MIDI in sync, live loop recording and playback, you name it, it can do it!

BTW, your G70 weighs the same as the day you bought it, other than a few ounces of dust! Maybe you should clean it out?
