Hate to say this, but Roland released the JV-1000 about 10 years ago - it was one of the predecessors to the '1080; just see some of the previous postings to this forum!

However, I do hope they release a new synth soon as I'm looking to buy one but the XP80's poor timing is putting me off at present (though they are dirt cheap at the moment!), I just hope they give it a better name than the rest of their stuff!

Don't get me wrong, I prefer Roland Synths to just about anything else, but IMHO 'XP80' doesn't quite have the same ring to it as 'Trinity' or 'Supernova'!
