Probably so, Fran, but I was able to get drop-out on an E-60 I tried out whilst in Newfoundland, last year....doesn't the E-50 use the same engine?

I remember the same issue didn't happen on the G70 I had here for a while.

LH voice (strings), layered RH voices (piano and strings, 8 parts accompaniment, and using the sustain pedal maxed out the E-60 I played...it's a good test...try it on your E-50.

New entry level 'boards, like the PSR- S710, now have double the poly of MOTL instruments of a few years ago.

I'm sure Roland must have new MOTL in the works...as well as new flagship models to eventually replace the G70/E80.
