Hi,
I'm a former owner of the XP-60 and I can tell you that it's an AWSOME synth! I never experienced a decay problem with it. The
XP-60 has A LOT of room for sound exansion and if you like to do classical music the onboard presets and expansion cards will provide you with all the sounds you'll need. The sequencer is top notch too. The non-stop loop recording is a big plus! Yes it does have aftertouch too. It's very easy to use and easy to control. You can bring it in slowly or quick and hard. The preset patches are liked by some and not by others, but what you have to realize is that this is a synth and the voices can be edited. If you don't like the way a sound is you can adjust it to your own personal taste. You can't go wrong with this synth. I've been kicking myself in the ass ever since I got rid of mine. I traded it for a Yamaha EX-7 (which is a great synth) but I do miss the XP-60.... Curious though, what price were you quoted? I've seen them for $1,399.00 and a $100.00 mail in rebate from roland...
