Channels 52 through 69 in the UHF television band, currently used by broadcasters, will be vacated as they convert to digital broadcasting. The government sold that section of airwaves for $19 billion in the FCC's most successful auction in history.
Cool! That'll pay for a couple of months of the War in Iraq, won't it?
In the meantime, of course, those public airwaves, sold off to the corporations, will now be sold BACK to the politicians at great profit for their political campaigning, forcing them to be in the pocket of Big Business JUST to be able to address We the People (who rightfully own the damn things in the first place)...
