Great post. I had a similar situation last fall when I did the opener for a 7-piece combo at a large marina in North East, Maryland. I used the PSR-3000 and the Bose L1. I performed and sang for an hour, did my usual routine, introduced the combo, and quickly moved my gear back into the van while they tuned up.

Several people asked me if I would consider staying around and performing after the combo finished. Unfortunately, I had another job just 10 minutes drive time from the marina and couldn't grant their wish. It was a neat experience, and you are right, ask for more money. The combo got $1,800 for their 3-hour performance. I picked up $100 for doing the opener.
