Speaking as a former 505 owner, there are much better products out there. Simply put, the filters are weak, and IMO the reverb is extremely tinny/metallic. The 303 and 505 were developed to satisfy many styles yet excel in none of them. As far as workstations are concerned, a 505 is pathetic when compared to a Korg Trinity or Roland XP60. I wanted desperately to find something redeeming about my 505 after I bought it, but it continuously fell short of the quality of my other gear. Sorry, I just felt I had to put my two cents in.
