I came from a predominately Technics background, though I've also had other brands along the way.

It didn't make sense to me to keep putting a lot more time & effort into my KN7000 once Technics stopped manufacturing.
Tried Yamaha & Ketron, but both lacked functions I'd been used to in my Technics keyboards over the years.
The korg PA800's been the best substitute for me to date, plus it has functions the Technics never did, including time slice.

Actually discovered an interesting source for audio drum loops in the form of Band in a Box 2007 Real Drums ( audio drum loops ).
They were part of my BIAB2007 megapak upgrade.
I purchased a Drums on Demand Disk for my Ketron a couple of years ago, but they work out so expensive.

The time slicing is a very interesting function.
