The biggest difference is the sequencers. The PSR740 must always record directly to a floppy which takes extra time to go from record to play because it first has to save the data and the PSR2000 (PSR1000) has internal Ram so you first record and playback tracks quickly before you decide to save it to the user area or to a floppy disk. this is so much better and is worth every penny more for the 2000.
