Following your description above, this is normal (with the current OS1.0).
The pitch changes because when the tempo is changed, the time length of the measure changes accordingly. In order to adjust to the time of the wave KETRON stretches/compresses the wave to match the selected tempo value, however, this causes a change in pitch. Tempo changes of patterns with waves are valid only for little variations , where the pitch change is not important.
Yes, the SD1 uses live drum loops and its pitch does not change with tempo variation. This is because:
(1) the files/loops that they use are 'proprietry' wave files that have been custom -developed with their wave-sync technology for the SD1 and not just 'sampled wave loops'.
(2) some of the drums are 'mini-samples' sampled onto keys (live drums). These notes are called as programmed (just as in drum1) and the samples assigned to them are produced. So, when you change the tempo, you are not changing the actual sample, just the rate at which the notes are 'called' to produce their associated samples. I hope I've not confussed you here!
I would suggest:
* Set the tempo of the style you would want to sample to first while in PATTERN EDIT mode. Also count the # of measures!
* Process the sampled loops as you do now - use the current number of measures of the style in the Sampler. You should see the tempo value change to match that of the style - if not, close enough. Sometimes you might have to use the TEMPO [Slow/Fast] buttons to adjust/change this tempo value as the SD1's value isn't ALWAYS the best.
Hope this helps!
Thanks,
AJ
