I think the PSR9000Pro is an important synth because the world's largest manufacturer of musical instruments has made its best synth an arranger. The PSR9000Pro is a statement, much like a Corvette is a statement for Chevrolet, and Viper is a statement for Chrysler. Korg and Roland have been holding back. Korg could have put a MOSS expansion slot in its PA-80; Roland and Korg could have put ROM slots in the PA-80 and VA-7, but they did not think they needed to to be competitive. I think they will have to respond with big boards of their own. The PSR9000Pro must have Solton and GEM very nervous. Solton has already responded with the announcement of the SD1. I think the arranger market is heating up, and the next round of introductions will be even more interesting.
