Mikey,

I'll give you my endorsement;
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Tama-HT741-ErgoRider-Throne-with-Backrest?sku=440486

I've played at least 360 gigs with this seat; ON DRUMS!! I'm a very physical drummer, play 1 1/2 hour sets in all types of weather and this is the one seat that has endured both my butt and my gig schedule.

Key features for any seat are:

* Tractor Style is a must. This is for my wide butt and also has contours for my thighs so they can move freely.
* At least double braced hardware - this will allow it to hold up on the occaisional hard sit or even use it to stand on.
* DO NOT GET A SEAT WITH FABRIC covering. They don't breath, will retain perspiration and BEER! Plus they are not very cool in warm weather and they wear out.
* I do not use the back rest as I try to keep a very straight alignment in my posture. The backrest would cause me to lean backwards. That might be a good thing on breaks and pauses.
* when it comes to comfort and your back, money is no object. You might balk at the high cost of a quality seat, but perfect posture and comfort is worth it's weight in GOLD!!!

I hope that helps.
Al
