Hi ScottL,

The Kaces Porter III (KKP9KB) weighs in at 17 lbs. I actually think the weight of both the YBTyros & KKP9KB cases is about as light as conceivably possible for a strong foam frame case which includes thick padding as well as built in wheels for convenient transport.

The exterior dimensions of the Kaces Porter KKP9KB is: 48" x 19" x 9". I can't remember the exact outside dimensions of the YBTyros case, but I remember Yamaha Corp telling me it was approx 4-6" longer in both length and width.

The KKP9KB interior length fits the Tyros perfectly, and its interior width allows me to keep the Tyros satellite speaker brackets attached (after easily removing with a hack saw) the imho useless plastic speaker bracket protrution section. The KKP9KB interior width is not sufficient to keep the music stand bracket attached to the Tyros. I don't know for sure, but perhaps the larger size YBTyros case would allow you to keep both the speaker & music stand brackets permanently attached to the kb. Since I never use the cheesy Tyros music rack, I chose the slightly smaller & lighter KKP9KB for $99 at my local music store. My only complaint with both the KKP9KB and YBTyros cases is that don't include a retractable handle like on the earlier model Kaces Porter with wheels Cases. Other than that, I'm (so far) very satisfied with my Kaces Porter KKP9KB.

I think that you won't go wrong with either the KKP9KB or YBTyros cases.

Scott
