The 58 can be muddy if used on a bassy voice. I recommend the EV N/D 767. About $129, and well worth the difference. You'll have to EQ the Sure a TON to get close to the EV sound.
The SM58 is durable, but in today's high fidelity market, it laks the upper frequency range. Modern PA's are so much better than the ones used in 1958 when that mic was made.
