Can I....

1) Call up a rhythm pattern and have a right hand sound already picked for that style, like the OTS or STS on other brands?

yes

2) Copy and paste just the bass line from say...variation A into variation B? Can it be saved to the actual style or just to the program section?

yes

3) Play styles direct from disk, either floppy or HD ?
no

4) Somehow disable the tempo restrictions in the styles that use sampled drums? This is a real problem .... There are a bunch of rhythms that will only go so far, tempo wise. This makes them UNusable in practical application.

Can you be more specific ? Which styles ?

They cannot be called up in succession during playback of other styles.

I am not sure this is true ....call me ...

Tempo should NEVER be restricted or limited.

Ketrons goal was to provide the best possible drums . They decided that .wav sync is the answer . This does however effect the tempo of some of the styles .
Is there away around it ? possibly ....

There are over 400 additional styles on the hard drive . That's 172 stock + 400 .

Any style loaded off the hard drive should be able to alter tempo . There may be another way . It would have to do with the copy pattern mode .

5) Use long file names for song titles?

NO every LCD display has some limitations .

6) Call up a menu with a bunch of registrations names to look at, before I actually select the reg. I want?

I do not use registrations . Many options can be saved without using them

7) Select registrations any other way than the 10 key method? F/S maybe? Advance or decrease?

I'll check ....

keep asking those questions .

UD ...there are only a few XD9 owners in the USA . Not many experts ! more to come .....dano
