Last year the state of Louisiana instituted a "no-call" list. If you send your name and phone number to the state, they put you on the list. All telemarketers are required by law to check this list and not call anyone on it. There is a substantial penalty for breaking this law.
Our "Unknown Caller" calls have just about doubled since the law was passed. Go figure.
