I tried it on the arranger keyboard and with 61 keys I find Am6 to E7 not very handy. Try Cm6 to G7 with the notes A en B on top... very nice.
Also the chords I mentioned G7 to C#7b5 to Cm6. If you try to do this on a 61 keys keyboard in the key you suggests, it should be: E7 to Bb7b5 to Am6. With 61 keys and the style range between C1 en F#2 (splitpoint) that's not easy.
I stick to Cm6 G7 etc.
