You really should try it with one sub before you decide to get a second. Unless you are playing for a thousand people and want to rattle the floor, one will be enough.

P.S. If you are not hearing enough bass, then you probably haven't done something right. When I first auditioned the Bose at Guitar Center, I couldn't hear any bass. The speakon cable that connects the sub, must be inserted and then TURNED to lock it in, on both ends. Otherwise you won't hear the bass. Be sure you did this.
