Hi DNJ,
not having colored screens etc doesn't really bother me.
Not being able to step edit the styles hopefully can be overcome with EMC Styleworks software. I have some favourite styles I hope to convert across to Ketron, if it doesn't work, I'll just midi up the laptop/OMB software for those particular styles..

As for the rest, I'll just keep rereading the manual till it eventually sinks in.( the skull must be getting thicker as the years go by haa haa. )
I've never seen so many dedicated buttons on a keyboard. Actually it's great, there's nothing worse than having one button and having to wade thru a heap of menu's to get to a function.

I had considered the midijay, but it appears
to target the performer moreso than maybe a hobbyist like me? I don't really use midifiles much, I don't sing, so the extra arranger functions on the sd1 suited me, plus I've ended up with aftertouch, mod wheel etc which I wouldn't have had, had I used my digital piano as the controller for the midijay. It's an amazing little unit though. At least Ketron's had the brains to keep making modules unlike some others.

Thanks DNJ
best wishes
Rikki
