Hi Guys,
I have decided to take the plunge and get me a Tyros to complement my Ketron XD3 and I will use this as the main keyboard instead of the XD3 Module and one of my master (dummy) keyboards when I am gigging (sorry UD).
The questions I have to all you (soon to be) fellow Tyroettes!! are:
1 - For small jobs (30 to 40 people - Restaurants etc) are the Yamaha speakers adequate. What is the actual output of them? It would be really nice not hump my old heavy amplification around if I don't have to. I know some of you use just these for retirement homes.
2 - Is there a line in socket on the Tyros that I could plug the XD3 into if I wanted to? on the Ketron you can split the mic input so that one can be used with a mike for harmony and effects and the other for a line in for another instrument. Is there anything like that on the Tyros or are there separate inputs on the powered speakers?
3 - For home or recording use I would still want to use my 88 note, fully weighted, master Keyboard. I presume that this would work OK but one of things that the Ketron didn't do at first (until they upgraded the O/S) was to accept the sustain pedal control info over midi. Anyone out there do this or can check it out for me I would be very grateful.
Thanks to anyone for info on the above.
Regards - KFingers
