For absolute best mic dynamic, the standard boom set up is undoubtedly the best. The looks thing is arguable. I don't care for having a boom in front of me or being frozen in one position in front of the mic. So, for me, the headset is more comfortable.

Every once in a while, I will take my right hand off the keys to pull or push the mouthpiece closer or further from my face for desired dynamics. It is the only trade off or downside I see to the headset.

And it is one less stand I have to carry around. We all have our priorities, and that is one of mine.
