Hi Rodrigues, I have a "Y2K" (my 2nd) and it does have a "background-hiss" my take on the noise is that , IMO-is the "amplifier". Like you said it doesn`t impeed the sound, but when your not playing and it`s quiet , it can be annoying. I hope this helps!! jedi
