The technics kn1000 (and perhaps other models) had a "Dynamic Accompaniment" button, that when you turned it on, let's say while playing a jazz style, if you took a solo and played with greater velocity, the rhythm pattern in the style would also be 'juiced up' ... it was a subtle, but very nice, feature ...
