Hi everyone,

Besides Synth Zone, I regularly check another site, Fark.com, which I find very amusing and humorous. Every one of you that browses the site, will probably have noticed some frequent Photoshop "contests" that are held there. They are very amusing sometimes, sometimes crap but always interesting and creative.

The (not quite original) idea is:
We choose a very-very well known popular song, top10 last 20-30 years maybe, (or Nigel as an admin makes a pick) and we post covers in mp'3s and/or GM/GS midis.

Some will use a pro approach using everything at their disposal, or some will use an unaltered style and a finger of the right hand (don't look at me!).
Take a ballad and transform it into Hard Rock, doesn't matter

Technicalities like bandwidth, or hosting of the mp3's will probably be solved easily.

The idea started forming when capt_doug61 said things about practice/playing slumps. This is going to be a hell of an exercise Doug!

Of course the pros (pro is not necessarily someone who makes money off music) will be at relative ease, and others (again, don't look at me!) will have a terribly hard time but I believe everyone will learn something hearing others' creative (or destructive) efforts.

Threatening to take the crown form Scott Yee for the longest post (just kidding Scott, ;-)), I may stop now.

Well, what do you think?
P.S. Probably most of the US/Canada is sleeping, so Europeans may take a head start
