There is no WRONG if it's good for you, but I hate scratched gear and I don't like my stuff getting wet either. I have ALWAYS used high quality cases for all my gear .... no matter how light or small. I even have the speaker stands in a vinal carry bag. The added setup time is very minimal, and protects the gear. As a matter of fact ... having the right protection means that you can load & unload faster without worrying about scratches, tears etc. Maybe it SAVES time.Hmmmmm?
