I definitely would not use a good pair of studio monitors. They just aren't designed to handle the SPL needed for a 75-100 person room, nor are they designed to 'throw' the sound that far (hence the word 'nearfield').

The Mackies mentioned above will do just fine, or the Logitechs as a budget alternative.
