Squeak
I had a Genesys and sold it, then bought a Genesys XP. I am a rank hobbyist at best so I can only give you my impressions from a non professional viewpoint.
The Sounds on the XP are terrific, quite an improvement on the original Genesys, which is no slouch. The styles are very good and sounds very live, not sterile. There are around 1500 sounds. This module sounds big and very live.
The XP is a Genesys S without the keyboard complete with DVD-(CD burner) and a hard drive loaded with many Midi and other files.
It really is a complete arranger workstation module with a really high quality build and performance.
I have it midi'd to a Technics FA1 organ which has turned the organ into an effective three manual organ by being able to split the lower manual of the organ as a controller. The Module is overkill for this setup. If I were a giging musician I wouldn't leave home with out it Period.
I really don't wish to say how much I paid publicly. You may email me for more info if you would like. I did contact George Kaye for a price but he didn't get back to me and it the meantime I found another source. I do believe George would treat you decently and certainly offers good support.
The Manual is available for downolad on the General Music Site
