Squeak,
Yep you are right. The Genesys xp is a module of the Genesys S.
I don't have the Genesys xp but I have had some one show me some of the new features over skype. I say new features because I have the original Genesys pro.

Every thing that the Genesys S has and can do the Genesys xp can do.
It has a 32 track sequencer and ways to do very detailed midi editing. You can also create and save new styles.

You probably know about the audio recording and the CD burning already.
The OS is relatively easy to get around I haven't had any major problems. But like with all keyboards you just have to get familiar with their way of doing things.

Sounds as you know is very subjective. But I would say that most of the "better" sounds are found by paging through sounds in single sound mode. Some of the pianos, strings, synth sounds and bass drum sounds (bass drum sounds for hiphop and other like musical styles), are wirth a listen.

I also like the sound editing tools and the sampler and sampler reader they are very easy to use.
I don't use the harmoniser so I can not comment on that. I hear that there is going to be a 6 pedal unit so you can assign some of your most used arranger functions to it.

It is a keyboard / module that can be ajusted to fit your playing style and job requirements.

Some of the -(s) for me is that it is still too heavy for a module thus not making it very transportable, no USB, and not that easyly available in the U.S.

It is a bit on the pricey side (you really have to shop around to get a good price). I am not saying it should be the same price as the Ketron Midjay (I understand that it has mor features than the midjay) but I think it should be less so that more people could have it.
