I'm happy that multi contact keybeds for B3 clones are a bit more common. Let's hope they appear on more affordable models in the near future. For me as a player, it's the one thing that most of the clones can't get right, and SO important for smears, shakes and grace notes.

I play a '56 B3 in church every Sunday now, and it's painful to go back to what I always considered on of the best B3 clones in an arranger, in my BK9! The more I play the B3, the more I realize that it's that keybed that really makes the B3 sing... šŸŽ¹ā¤ļøšŸ¤©

Also the "fulcrum" on the XK-7's keys has been moved further from the player (as on the B3.) I KNEW that the B3 action seemed more comfortable/easier to play, because the keys, especially the black keys, go almost straight down compared to most synth keyboards. With an XK-7 those gnarly multi-finger chords wouldn't seem so bad!

So chords that can't be played with one finger are 'gnarly', but you're appreciative of a long fulcrum keybed? 🤣

C'mon, you have to admit that SOME 4-finger chords in certain keys are fairly unergonomic. Especially on a synth-action keybed, it takes a lot of finger pressure on the short black keys to get everything down. I've noodled around on B3s in keyboard and organ stores. From the first time, I could tell that the movement was more comfortable and the keys were consistent and easier to depress.

With electronic instruments, there are no hammers or valves restricting the mechanical design. What if they designed a keyboard around the ergonomics of the human hand?!? I don't think this was at NAMM, but...

The only chords that are uncomfortable are the ones you don't practice..! šŸ¤£šŸŽ¹ā¤ļø

The 61 and 76 models on the Roland boards are awful. I have to use 2 hands to push down the note near the fulcrum. Even my PSR 920 is a joy to play.
