Anyone remember this one?

I saw Dom Sigilas a Yamaha representative wearing this on a t shirt in a recent yamaha promo video.

With the recent YC 61 release..
I guess this could be a secret message for an upcomming dual manual Yamaha YC organ..

Lets hope it also has an arranger part...

Friend of mine had one back in the day and played a regular gig at a bar. Ran it thru a 145 leslie. I filled in for him one weekend and it was great. Big $$$ if I remember. I do know he got the leslie for $200 because he beat me to it.

Hello friends

My Cousin had oneYC45, with the pedals, yes like a regular spinet organ also Yamaha had at the time three models that had the "tremolo" the R50, R100 and the R200 the largest model had 3 rotating styrofoam rectangular speakers only vertical instead of the horizontal like the Leslie.....the R 100 had 2 rotating speakers, and the R50 probably only one, never saw one in person.

I had one R200 with my Electone E10 AR, and was powerful......they where also nice looking, I used for my gigs then.

Too bad they did not continued making them.

Manuel

You can not compare them really well..

The hammond was a full organ..
This is much more a cross between an organ and a synth..
Lots of synth features on board

Its kind of the predecessor to Yamaha’s GX-1 and CS80 lines..

Where the hammond, was a tonewheel i asume?
Dont know my 74 Hammonds that well..
Or was it this model

To me its almost incredible how good the 50 year old tech still sounds..

I have the XL125... similar to this model. 44 key manuals instead of 61's, but a couple more added features.. Same built in Leslie, and added vibrato tabs.. Same drums..

I had a Yamaha YC-20 for a while in 1976. Ran it through a Leslie 110 and it had room for a Hohner Pianet piano on top.

It sounded ok for the time and it looked great with the high gloss finish and chrome legs.
