I have a friend that wants to send a CD to a dying friend, but the two songs are on her Sansung phone. I know I have to record that, probably, from the headphone jack to something, then burn a disk. I am not sure what to record on. I have a Zoom recorder, keyboards, desktop. There too is the matter of an audio interface.
Have never been much into recording. Any thoughts?

No interface needed - phone HP jack into the Zoom line in.

Why not just use the phone files? If on a SD card or internal storage, just transfer to computer (or CD writer) and write to CD. With the Zoom, you would still have to create the CD, plus despite the digital media, it would still be an analog data transfer. JMO.

Bernie, in the days I recorder, the output jack, or phone jack went to an EQ, and reverb unit – then to whatever to record the CD.

I have no knowledge of how the Sansung phone stores the recorded dater. Going through EQ and reverb unit will enhance the sound.

PS, I am working with the same type of thing now – Cassette tape into a EQ and reverb unit – into I don’t know what.
Fun stuff.

Hi Bernie

Like chas said, you don't need to record anything, just transfer the files from the phone direct to where you want it to go. Just plug in a usb cable in other words. smile

Thanks guys.
I will try to go for a direct transfer,as it would be the simplest. If not,you all have given me alternatives.
Thanks all
Bernie
