Pure Imagination" is a song from the 1971 movie Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. It was written by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley specifically for the movie. It was sung by Gene Wilder (Willy Wonka). As an instrumental ballad it is more difficult to arrange due to the last bar in the melody which receives a Ritardando. (Rit..)
I chose to use the "Slow and Easy" Style Ballad of the Tyros 5 to give it an added funk groove. There are a few solos and leads. The midi tracks got maxed out at 16 due to the style needing 8 midi tracks. (9-16)

Instrumentation

Harmonica (S.Art2!)
Trombone (S.Art2!)
Jazz Flute (S.Art2!)
Pop soprano Sax (S.Art2!)
Alto Sax (Sa2-Funk Articulation)

Romantic Strings
Sax Section
Pop Dynamic Brass

Pop Piano
Acoustic Live Drum Kit)
"Slow and Easy" Ballad Style)

Have a listen when time permits and I welcome your comments.

Allen nice groove well done,....if I'm being honest, again the lead solo sounds for my tastes are too "up front" not sitting well in the mix to hear the other instruments,... but I appreciate you sharing with us.

Alan this is a very tasty production. i like the swing and the phrasing and the entire arrangement. sure it could be mixed better but that's something someone else can do for you.

When it comes to mixing, this is another skill in itself. A couple of years ago with the Motif 8 now sold, I used Samplitude with its custom made configs which offered great mixing possibilities. The only time consuming thing was converting every midi track to their own Wav file and resync in Samplitude. For now, I.ll be totally focus on my arranging skills since 1968 using the Tyros 5 and hopefully pick up a few mixing tips as I move forward. I know that Yamaha is listening to my scores. I hope to do some sample demos with new instruments for them in the future. Thanks for listening....I posted an earlier score of "The More I See You" in the Yamaha's Arrangers Forum..
