Been listening with my iPad....that's the first clue.

Thing is, the styles sound...for lack of a better term...thin. Maybe it's the recording system used?

I keep thinking the PA 4X has more going for it sound wise than I'm hearing on these demos...???

Wish I could rent a PA 4X. I'm guessing that's the only way I could get a real test. Truth is, the PA 4X has got about everything I'm looking for except the familiarity of Yamaha.

I keep thinking Yamaha is going to come up with their own version of a PA 4X. I'm just not sure at the ripe old age of 67, I'll live long enough to see that.

The sound on demos is just that a demo big deal.....the KORG can me EQ'd in so many ways to make it sound fuller or any way you like never judge by a demo online..

you cant go wrong with the Pa4x its all a matter of choice today's arrangers are all amazing just make them your own.

Donny,

There are going to be a lot of incremental choices in the future.

Most of the R&D for Yamaha has already been done on arrangers going back years...they just haven't built a Tyros the size and capability of a PA 4X.

So far, Yamaha has been able to make $$$ on pretty small changes. Yamaha arrangers actually made a bigger change(IMHO) from the PSR S950 to S970 than they did from Tyros 4 to Tyros 5.

IMHO...the next big thing in arrangers has been the Korg PA 4X....question in my mind is whether or not Yamaha will follow the lead that Korg has set.

Biggest problem Korg has is that Korg arranger users haven't started fixing their own software problems like Windows users have done for years...maybe they can't???

The Tyros 5 sounds great. The difference; I can feel the pa4x right through my chair.

The 4X can sound about any way you want it to sound. Extensive e.q. and processing available, and it's easy to do.
You could get one from a company that allows 30 or 45-day return. Sweetwater is one that does that, and they will give you a good price if you beg. smile
