Tired of my Pro speakers. OK, but not matching up live vs the mix I get from my Reveal studio monitors.

Had my share of feedback and they sound a bit boxy to me now.

I have a lot of jobs and I still want light (8" would be fine - QSC states (customer reviews) some nice bass too for their 8s)

So.....in the market: Any thought appreciated.

Yamaha
QSC

Don't think I want to mess with anything else.

QSC K 8 is the best speaker in it class period I own DXR 10 and like them as well but the K8 is the best by long shot I have used K8's for 4 years and over 1000 gigs on the and sound just like the day I got them Highly recomend them and small as well you will find you will not use the bass switch a bit too strong for small gigs .

I really like my Yamaha DXR10 speakers. The benefit of the 10 is that you can lay them on their sides as a monitor. I have done many solo and duo gigs with the speakers behind us on the floor. We hear it nice and full and the smaller room is still filled with sound.

I also own the RCF ART 310a 10" speakers. Very vice tone and a bit lighter than the Yamaha. Less wattage than the Yamaha but nice power and tone for up to 100-150 people.

Thanks for comments. I plunged for the QSC8s. They have a free bag thing going on too.

I've used and sold allot of the powered speaker lines. QSC had set a new standard with their powered speakers, Yamaha had designed their DXR speakers to compete with the QSCs, and with of course each person's opinion on sound, they are very close to each other, with some differences,

For sure is you can't go wrong with either.

The Yamaha's are less expensive and are currently coming with a padded case, and has a 7 year warranty where I believe the QSC has a 3 year

I prefer Yamaha dxr more than qsc K series.More linear, more natural tone.
But, you will not go wrong with either one.
Don't forget rcf art 10. .You could find them pretty cheap.
also, there is jbl prx710 or ev etx10, but they are more money and you probably don't need that much power.
I would choose dxr10 or 8.
