All windows 7 themes have this feature, you need to set windows classic as your theme..

I'm not a guru at all, but why should it stop happen?
Quite normal feature, it only shows you have marked the file for action at next click.
If you point to and click at a empty space at the desktop it's gone. smile

That should not happen i.e. unless you drag arond several files or hold down shift at same time when click one and one...
Tried to restart yor PC to se if it's just a temporary bug?

Click on "Start"

Type "Advanced System Settings" into the search bar

Under the "Performance" section choose "Settings"

Scroll down and uncheck "Use visual styles on windows and buttons"

Click "apply"

Wait a bit while Windows grinds away and does its thing

Note that this will change the look and feel of your desktop, too. It's easy enough to put back if you don't like it, however. But then you'll be stuck with the boxes....

Hope this helps,
Dan

Yep I agree, I always set mine to Windows classic so it still is like Windows XP. Here is a link on how to do that http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/change-windows-to-classic-view
