Sounds like one of Marty's improvs to me, Donny. Despite it's name, I use this style for 60's songs like Call Me (Tony Hatch) and Don't Sleep In The Subway (also by Hatch).

Marty has a cool way with taking a tune (usually the chord progression) and changing it just enough so that it still suggests something familiar.

You'll notice most of his style demos are done that way...might have to do with copyright.

It's usually a copyright issue. Like the intros are ALMOST a famous tune, but not quite, then he is ALMOST playing something you know..!

Donny,
The chord pattern probably reminds you of "Mr Dyingly Sad" by the Critters, or "How High The Moon" by Les Paul & Mary Ford - there are only so many chord changes!

Here's my version of the Critters tune - recorded on the PA800 to demonstrate the real harmonies with added digital oohs from the KB.

Marty is a real dark horse...he is a much stronger player than what we see in his demos, which are geared, like most factory presentations, for the common ear and to showcase the instrument's styles, sounds and features.

He was deeply involved in the Tyros' development from the very beginning, and understands the instrument better than anyone I know, and I've seen him really stretch on some tunes with a technique that would make any of us here green with envy.

The more I play and explore the instrument, I can say with confidence that I am totally pleased with my choice in the Tyros4...it's an arranger that will serve me for a very long time.
