That looks pretty handy to me to have such a portable MIDI capture and playback device. A nice way to be able to send a system exclusive dump to a keyboard on the road without having to have a computer present.

It's not really Nigel..That's what I thought...but you cannot pre-determine a sequential list of what setups you want to load, and I am SURE you would have more than one???

The ONLY way to actually get your data into the ipad using the app is to record it. You cannot simply either drag and drop in itunes, NOR can you transfer via the Apps "load files" interface at the bottom of iTunes either.

EVERYTHING must be recorded into the App via the dongle.
If one had several hundred midi files to load in you can imagine what a PITA it would end up being hey?

GREAT idea, excellent premise, very VERY poor in it's implementation.

The Midi Mobiliser dongle is cute though , and it DOES work with other far more Pro App software than the little Memo app.

Yep, sounds like the app falls very short. But if another better designed app comes available then this would be a usefull device.

There are a couple, Midi Performer, I think it's called, is a very good app (it's also about $50 Oz as well)...

I am awaiting Music Reader, or Unreal Book to get the MIDI implementation setup though, as for my needs (reading of charts linked to Korg Songbook setup midis) either of those two apps is plenty.
