Stephenm52, No problem, at least it helps spread the word to Tyros4 users.

What did this T4 upgrade address?

Tyros4 Firmware Upgrade Version 1.02Changes by upgrading

1. Reduced the time it takes to delete the Wave of a Premium Voice.

2. Fixed bug that caused the Volume and Pan parameters of a Style to be reset to the default values after changing them in the Mixing Console and switching to the Style Creater.

3. Fixed bug that caused the path information for a Style on a User drive registered in the Style category selection button to disappear when turning the instrument's power button On and Off repeatedly.

4. Fixed bug that caused the system to crash when creating a SONG that uses a Keyboard Voice that is not a Multi Pad preset, or when selecting such a SONG created in Tyros3.

5. Fixed a bug that caused the instruments processing speed to slow down when a Registration has assigned a Custom Voice or Premium Voice to a part, and the Regist Information is displayed.

Scott, Thanks for your report. I updated mine earlier today and had a gig this afternoon, so I have not had the time to do the testing you've done. But I will say the T4 sounded fine at today's gig.

Steve, great to hear your T4 gig went well.

After the 1.02 OS update, in addition to the noted bug fixes, I can swear I hear a noticeable improvement in the overall Tyros 4 sound as well. The sound seems warmer and also punchier at the bottom end (no EQ settings altered). Anybody else notice this? All going well, I definitely plan to use Tyros 4 on my New Years Eve Gigs! Having now compared Tyros 4 'side by side' with a Tyros 2, as well as a Tyros 3, I can unequivocally state that Tyros 4's terrific sound advancement is clearly apparent and appreciated.

Well, nice to hear you say this.

Quote.I can swear I hear a noticeable improvement in the overall Tyros 4 sound.

I have made the same observations on another Forum,However, I can not put my finger on what the improvement is.

Gilbert.

thats wonderful news. I hope this fixes all the issues both scott and Chony (to my knowledge ) was experiencing.

This is a very quick response from any manufacturer and yamaha are to be commended. This is what after sales service is about and both Korg and Ketron could learn a lesson from this kind of service.

These are factors that most people dont really pay due regard to when purchasing a high end arranger product but its a major factor for me.
