You'll have to get it from your distributors as it was purchased from Ketron.

Tonewheeldude,

Done.

Is this USB Pen Drive update for sale in the UK? Is this true for other EU nations as well as it's not the case for the USA.

Thanks,

AJ

Each distributor has to buy the USB pen drives, the hardware was not free for Ketron to produce and not free for the distributors to purchase.

It is vital that every Audya owner has a physical pen drive paired to their Audya (unless the Audya is brought with the sound upgrade preinstalled by Ketron).

Leezone,

About 20 years back I met a chap just like you on a 767 going to Tenerife, he asked the pilot could he keep the headset he used to watch the in-flight movie, the pilot said “ where the hell are you going to get a Boeing 767 to plug them into” why do you want Audya software.

Tony

The problem is that Ketron the manufacturer messed this up again.
They created an update for the Audya on a pen drive. They said it is to be free for the consumer.
However, instead of Ketron the manufacturer absorbing the cost, Ketron the manufacturer told the distributors that they must absorb the cost.

And now you are seeing the negative effects of territorial distributorship.

That is why Ketron will continue to do bad because the distributors and the manufacturers are always at odds and the consumers are left to suffer.

Makes you wonder what will happen to Audya owners who bought their Audya second hand and hear there is a free update and because of the distributor they can not get it.

Why simply Ketron didn't make available the update for download like all previous updates? I think nowdays nearly everyone has a broadband connection and downloading even some GB of software isn't much of a problem. They would have saved the costs of purchasing that personalized USB pens.....

its not the size of the download, it is mainly the way it is deployed. Ketron Italy wanted to make sure this major upgrade went as safely and smoothly as possible with the smallest amount of risk of data corruption or user mistakes, and as service manage I can tell you that many people are just not getting the normal update procedure where you have to connect to a PC. If this had been a download it would have been disaster.

and genesys, not sure why you think ketron are doing bad - it has been extremely succesful for us here in the UK. As for supporting second hand keyboards, it makes no difference to us wether an Audya is new or second hand to us, if their keyboard originated with us we will support them.

So far not one of our owners has complained about the small cost of the USB drive and not one has had a problem installing this way. The only people to complain are those that do not have - or have no intention of owning an Audya.
