You have malware! You may have to format your hard drive

Run a full scan of your anti-virus, as well as download Adware and Spybot Search and distory.

Update your virus scanner definitions and do a full scan, not a quick scan.

Also download this program and install it. http://download.cnet.com/Ad-Aware-Free-A...ubj=dl&tag=top5

Update it's definitions before you let it scan your system. Its a program called Ad Aware.

And one more....
http://download.cnet.com/Spybot-Search-amp-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10122137.html?tag=mncol
Downloads, install and update the definitions before you do a full scan.

All that will fix the sickest PC in the world.

Regards
James

You should not have to resort to a total reformat for this one unless they've changed it.

Tyically it can be removed with malwarebytes free and also be prepared to have to edit a couple of entries out of the reistry so that it does not come back again.

If you do a websearch on the message that the malware is presenting to you, you will find the directions for how to remove the particular one you've got.

And it is not likely that you did anything bad or wrong to get this one, it apparently can be embedded ihto any website and installs automatically when you visit the page.

Do the search, read and understand the instructions well before going to work on it and you can get rid of this one.

Don't forget about System Restore:

1. Click Start.

2. Point to All Programs.

3. Point to Accessories.

4. Point to System Tools.

5. Click System Restore.

6. Follow the instructions on the wizard.

Creating a restore point can be useful any time you anticipate making changes to your computer that are risky or might make your computer unstable. If something goes wrong, you select the restore point you just created and Windows XP undoes any system changes made since that time.

This does not alleviate the need for good anti-virus and anti-malware programs, just makes it easier to recover sometimes. I've spent hours trying to remove deeply rooted programs designed to self-propagate.

Hi James, do Adware and Spybot do different things; they look similar.

Hi

Ad Aware and Spybot does principally the same. But they may each find some malware the other doesnt find.

I use both regulary.
