I played a cocktail reception for a wedding this weekend:
http://www.hamletwillowcreek.com/golf.htm I have been using the Podium 10s (and dare I say with great success?!?) and I had one on a tripod and one on the floor off to my side, more as a monitor ... but this isn't about the speakers ...
I find that I am quite sensitive to certain 'odors' - nail polish, nail polish remover, hair sprays, etc. - and one hair spray that my wife had to stop using is called 'Spritz' ... the odor gives me an instant headache ... well I am playing the gig and I am surprised that people are standing right in front of the speaker on the tripod which is just to the left of my kb, having a conversation at normal volume (yet I knew the volume all over the room was quite good and clear but this is NOT about the speakers
) when two other women came to join them ... in a second, the odor of 'Spritz' hits me and I know that if they stay there my head will be POUNDING ... so I raise the volume on the mixer and also start to sing a little louder, and I hear one of the woman say "Oh, we are right in front of the speaker, let's move somewhere else"
... Mission accomplished, I BLEW them away, and I returned the volume to where it was before, ... no headache ...
