Is it just me or did Yamaha improve the drum sounds. I actually like some of the demos

Same lack of dynamics, as far as I am concerned... the same sound, played loud or medium loud, tends to sound exactly the same. Hihats, snares, kicks, cymbals - all of these sound just a bit 'flat' and uninspiring. Real drummers can't make every backbeat sound identical even if they TRY

Nice if you are trying to NOT grab someone's attention, though... perfect for background and cocktail gigs, but I prefer something that makes me feel like I've got a drummer next to me, not a CD of a drummer...

Outstanding playing and programming (bet you it's both!) on the leads though. Monster chops!

Yep...they sound more dynamic to me, too...I like Yamaha's drums anyway...guess that's why I play one.

I like a nice polished and well balanced sound.

There are supposed to be new drum kits, and the effects processor has allegedly been enhanced.

I'll know for sure when I get my S910...could be here tomorrow...it was sent yesterday morning by courier.

Diki's right...perfect for cocktails, and dinner music, although Yamaha drums have always done a great job for the occasional dance gig.

Sort of an all rounder.

I like that Modern Shuffle style, too.

I agree with Ian...

Yamaha has really upped the stakes with these New S series offerings..I usually Hi EQ the drums from default 64 to 102 just to give the high end a "SIZZLE" makes a big difference in the styles. Ian congrats on your S910...mine will be here tomorrow too, Then I'll load it & take it on stage tomorrow night also.. ...

90's Cool ballad on the S910, super guitars.

Gotta say I'm really liking the s910. The s900 was nice and it served the purpose getting a Yamaha board to supplement my Pa2xpro. I agree it's not like a live drummer but I'm with Ian and Donny, sounds dynamic and Yammie has upped the stakes with this s910.

If you take off any factory EQ, can anyone confirm or deny that the drums aren't the same as the S900? I didn't think I saw any new regular kits in the patch list... did I get that wrong..?
