Is it me, or did I miss the line-ins?

Grrrr... What is it about video recorder manufacturers that makes them think that a line in would be so useless? Especially for Zoom, who's business is built around musicians...

If I missed it, disregard the above rant (although it applies to most other video camera devices, too)

Even with better quality mikes than most pocket video devices, we all know how basically shitty recording your arranger through it's speakers (or your PA) into a mike is going to sound....

Zoom have bitten off a piece of a MUCH more crowded and competitive market with their entry into the pocket video field. Personally, compared to a FlipHD, this doesn't look like quite the world beater that their audio products are. No 720p, no super slo-mo, no stills capacity, etc., etc..

But it's a start, I guess. I am just surprised that Zoom didn't take the excellent I/O capabilities of their H series as a jumping off point. Especially as they are marketing to musicians...

Diki.., this is totally new ground for Zoom. They gotta test the market first and see how sales are. I imagine if this unit sells well enough Zoom will release a newer "more feature packed" model. It's a good step forward for them IMO.

Not sure if there's a line in jack.., but the onboard mic sure is better than the shitty mics you get on many other vid cameras
