Hey, these instrumentals are thrown together and used for fills during live play. Again, arranger play with trumpet lead. Love the chords anyway (Jazz Fake Book). Trying to show the versatility of the PA800.

Sounds great. Like the more staccato attack than the legato; sounds more realistic. Good articulation. Lose the intro - it interferes with the first note of the song.

Thanks

- psst, have somebody trade me for an 800 and I'll become a Korg fan too.

Very, very well played, Zuki, and nice style pick as well...nice chords, too.

Cassp is right about the intro...it takes a little bit away from an otherwise excellent tune.

Why don't you do "This Masquerade" and join in on the E-Jam?

The PA-800 sounds very rich and full.

Interesting intro. The Intro is in a minor key, but then goes into a major once the tune begin.

It kind of lifts into the first verse, but I wondered if you tried it with the major and didn't like it as much...

Was that intentional, Jim?

Trumpet cooks along nicely...

I also think the transition from intro to song is somewhat disjointed ... otherwise, nice job ...
Bill, is this what inspired your 'intro' thread?

Interesting. The intro is played with a minor chord (Bbm7). It sounds minor to me, but hey....tough crowd - not easy to please I'm done.

Just because the intro STARTS with a minor chord, doesn't mean the intro is minor, zuki... That's a II-V, if you are going off the head (file is down, so I couldn't listen)...

Something a Berklee grad might know, and a machine will never correct you on...

I'd listened to it a few times and the intro typically plays out based on the type chord you trigger it with. If you start the style intro with a Minor chord, the whole intro will carry a minor feel to it...

I'm not familiar with his board, so wasn't sure what other options he'd decided against.

And to be clear, part of me liked the minor intro transitioning into the verse. I thought it worked...I don't remember his ending and if he bookended it to the intro or not.

Tony thought it was disjointed, I found it interesting...like I said...

Jim-Several of us were drawn to the intro. Most of us had compliments to offer on the piece as well. Why would you go "donny/John dileo" on us and pull it off?

C'mon man-you're better than that...Buck up, let us know what you were thinking when you did this, that's all.

I've heard alot of tunes lately that imo, the intros have zero to do with the song...

THIS WASN'T ONE OF THEM...

BUT, I found myself wondering about them, so I started a thread...

I guess if the intent was to "lift" into the verse, then I say it was good...it resolved interestingly into the verse...If that wasn't the effect desired, I'd just like to know the thought process, that's all...

Jim ... Not sure what your intent was, but if you decided you didn't want anyone else to hear it perhaps you should edit your post and delete the link ...
