Not arranger related, but some of you guys have synths too. Anyone know what's going on at Korg with this huge price cut on the M series? 61 key model was $2199 now dropped to $1899. Plus they got the baby M3 (the M50) coming out and hitting the street at $1,099 for the 61 key version.

Yea... recession!

There's got to be an upside

Don't forget the new OS and soundsets for M3, all for free again...

Be nice if they slashed the price of the PA2Xpro, though

I wouldn't expect too much from Korg arrangers...price wise, don't forget Korg Italy and Korg USA are totally independent of each other.

And Korg arrangers are selling very well in Europe, and Asian countries.

ref: Kork M3, hi, manny here. just bought mine at guitar center in san francisco, listed for $1,899, brand new in sealed box, was lucky cause that weekend i got an extra 10% off, , be carefull with that music store in the east coast called, "east coast music mall" rip off artist, tried to sell me a used unit opened boxed while stating it was brand new. said the had to open box to check it out. lies after lies, and never get back to you, watch these crooks, and be sure prices you're looking at are for brand new in sealed boxes.

Actually, this is the same price the M3 was introduced at. I should know, I purchased one. Then, Korg added a huge price increase worldwide to counteract the fuel crisis and the deteriorating dollar. This reduction now brings the price back to where it was. Combine this with the new OS update and Oodles and oodles of new sounds and patches that were just released and this looks like a mighty tasty purchase once a gain.

That M50 looks like a little dynamo and I have to check that out big time!

Once again, Korg is making all the right moves. This company continues to impress me.

Watch out for the build quality. this is a real issue. My brother bought the M3 73 keys last week and called me to come and demo it. In the 30 minutes it took me to get to his home the keyboard completely failed. No power . no boot up no lights nothing !!! He returned it the next day and bought the Motix XS the next day .

I never even got a chance to play one key on the M3 and there have also been problems loading the latest expansion upgrade on the M3. Just be aware that there are still major teething issues with this board. Also the keyboard is extremely light and its underside is completely exposed for the Radias board to be inserted.I would be very wary about gigging with this keyboard.

I wasn't very impressed with the large pads... they are very sensitive to being hit in anything but the 'sweet spot' and can give very unreliable (read different velocities) results, IMO.

Sonically, I haven't heard the new Expanded M3 except online, but the original reminded me FAR too much of my Triton...

That new 4-way piano is a keeper, though! Karma2 is cool, but lacks much for the more mature player... I don't do much hiphop and trance!

100 or so more R&B (old school!), Rock and jazz Karma setups would help...

Tough to fault the price, though, at nearly a grand less than a MotifXS6...
