Here's a new one I just put up at Roland-Arranger.com:
http://www.roland-arranger.com/smf/index.php?topic=845.0

Please note the caveat about being a hair bass light (I haven't mastered this one due to time constraints)....

As the Human Torch would say from the Fantastic Four.....

FLAME ON...!

For those who didn't stick around to read the comments -

My Windows Media 11 gave me a warning box that the file extension might not play, but it did. Others reported having problems too, do you know why that is?

The recording is very clear and the song is very nice; good vocals, but I expected a little more of a reggae flavor based on "your" picture .

Good job all around, Diki.

i suppose the error comes up because of the mp3's properties, being recorded at 256 kbps.
winamp will play it nicely though.

Wouldn't play on my Windows Media Player.

Diki Nice Job very reminiscent of James Taylor's rendition. Thanks for sharing.

Diki......
Thanx for posting some of your work... Great recording the H2 really does a Nice job recording, was it In-line or the On-board mics? The Roland Piano really shine thru the mix with a natural sound nice playing. Sax lead gave a nice touch for sure...I was never a fan of Roland's Brass patches vs Yamaha's but in any case I really enjoyed listening to this tune. Please treat us to more in the future!

DP.

Whew! Finally got to hear the tune...I had to download and install QuickTime...but it was worth it.

Very, very well played and arranged, Diki, and some fine tasty piano sprinkled about...cool sax solo...just enough to make the listener want more.

Vocals were sharp and clear, and harmony was also nice and clean.

Very nice work...a 10/10 for sure.

Thanks guys, very kind of you...

Sorry about the properties problem. Something to do with the way I edited the take out of a longer recording (the whole set) and pasted it into a new file. I don't usually work with MP3 recordings, but I was running short of room on the SD card (had the previous day's gig on it also, at 44/16 .wav).

Time constraints made me forgo my usual system, I'll rectify that next time. What I really need is an app on the Mac that edits and masters mp3's without conversion and re-conversion (with it's quality loss). Audacity converts to a 32bit file and back to do editing, and mp3's are bad enough with just encoding ONCE, in my opinion!

It was recorded straight form my Yamaha EMX mixer's RCA outs. We use no back-line amps and no monitors, so a board mix IS what the audience hears (and us ), just beefed up a bit with the Mackie sub.

Yeah, the track started out as a JT clone, but once you strip it down to bass and drums, you have a lot more options where to take it, and I just can't bring myself to do one of those 'note-for-note' things Then I would have to SING like JT, and that's sadly never going to happen!

Anyway, thanks again. I appear (so far!) to have not been ripped a new one... Maybe some more of you can take this to heart, and let's start to share our music a bit more, now. This is how musicians are SUPPOSED to communicate, IMO

BTW, further down the page, member Hanspeter has converted the file so it plays without problem on Windows systems:

I hope this helps...
