Jim (Zuki) is a GREAT guy! I would never have met him if not for the ZONE. (A little gullible...a Bontempi for an SD-5????)!

He and his family members are welcome at my house anytime. He's articulate, ambitious and respectful of old "Redneck" Russ (and others as well, I'm sure). In fact, I'm really looking forward to future visits. He's just an hour and a half north on I-75.

We met at a job I was playing, and he waited for over an hour for me to wrap it up (sorry, bud). Then, we went to the warehouse and got so wrapped up in our visit that we didn't even plug in the Bontempi (G-70, actually) and I didn't even open the case of the SD-5. That will happen this week-end.

Thing is, all it takes is this kind of great connection to make all the petty little riffs that happen here occasionally pretty insignificant.

The other thing about Jim is, he changed careers (he's a degreed Chemical Engineer) to get into this crazy competitive entertainment game, and his success can be attributed to his strong work ethic, talent and organizational/sales skills. That took some "big ones". Not at all sure that I'm that brave.

I appreciate the trade...I have an instrument with an operating system I'm familiar with and I think he'll be delighted (and much stronger) with the G-70.

But I appreciate the chance to connect with my new friend MORE.

And THAT is what's most important to me.

Right on, Cap'n. You've got your priorities right, alright. Zuki sounds like a real decent guy.

Awww Shucks.... Sounds like both of you had a great time. The next time I get to your neighborhood to perform, Russ, I'll look you up. I'm buyin'.

Cheers,

Gary

Russ,

Thanks for the compliments. I'm just an average guy who appreciates the kindness extended from good folks like you. It's great to meet new people, especially those with same interests, etc.

I too am struggling with balance. As I tried to explore the 70 this morning, I had numerous business phone calls and made arrangements to be out of town next week to check out chemical opportunities at Chrysler and Louisville Forge for the company I represent.

I just got home from mulitple gigs too. Am back out tomorrow for more and then a party at my house tomorrow night. And you guessed it, I always play the music (there are (3) doctors who bring their instruments - the only chance they get since college

The 70 is a beast and not sure if I have time to tame it. After several years of Yammy study, I can pull off everything on the plate and still sound halfway respectable in live play.

So the mind keeps playing games. I keep thinking of a T2 and stand alone harmonizer.

Hope the SD is what you want. I'll be sure to keep in touch.

Regards,
zuki

Russ,

Since we're on the theme of time management, please know that I appreciate dealing with you, but wanted to give a heads up that I am unloading the G70.

I have come full circle and know with my busy schedule and successful Yamaha bookings, that I need to stay on course. Today's jobs alone netted more bookings - it continues to go that way. Why knock a good thing?

Looking for another S900 or better yet, a T2. Will add the harmonizer in May.

Promise folks, tried 'em all and this is it

I have an S900 for sale. Don't really want the G70 though.

Through the SZ after being here 8+ years,
I have Personally met here & also visited with some wonderful musicians including....

Dave Boyd (Uncle Dave)
Fran Carango
Gary Diamond
Ray Bastinelli
Dan O
Prince AJ Alimanji
Tony Mads
Tom Cavanaugh

I have also been very close with many other SZ members by phone & email, forum, Skype, etc .....like Don Mason, Tony Waterworth Scott Yee, Tony Rome, Eddie Shomaker, Diki, Zuki, Hank, Steve Molinar & countless others.

Besides my Wife & Children, Grandchildren & Family, I consider my
"GOOD FRIENDS" very important to me & hope to expand the circle of friends in the future.....in this crazy world we live in it's nice to know you can always turn to your Circle of extended family for enjoyment, advice, & enlightenment.
And on top of that I get to play music for a living which is the greatest gift I was given by my Parents as a child that's adds to my happiness. Sorry to get deep & misty but these things touch me.

Enjoy your life !

Jim (ZUKI), if there is ANY advantage for you reversing the trade, just let me know. I haven't even opened the bag with the SD-5 in it yet, and I think I'll like it, but, since I have my new C-1, SH-201, GW-7 and Electro and am happy with my ancient MS-60's I'm more interested in you getting something you are happy with.

If you want the SD-5 back, I'll meet you around Cincinnati. If not, I'll keep it.

Whatever you'd like to do is fine with me. I think I'd be better off with the Sd-5, but don't feel strongly about it either way.

Get something you enjoy, and play the hell out of it!

Regards,

Russ
